SPECIFICATIONS
Input: 90 to 264 vac, 47 to 63 Hz.
Output: See Table of Models (above).
Customer can select "Single Mode" or "Dual Mode (3-stage
Charge)" by a "B1" or "B2", respectively, in the model number as shown
under "Model Number
Selection Process" section below.
Output Current Waveshape: Rectified sine
squared waveform.
Output Voltage Waveshape: DC level with
superimposed ripple.
Regulation, End-of-Charge Peak Voltage: ±1%,
typical.
Regulation, Fast-Charge Peak Voltage: ±2%,
typical.
Regulation, Maximum Charge Current: ±10%,
typical; measured at 2 volts per cell output level at nominal
line input (120 volts to 240 volts).
Fast-charge Cutback-of-Voltage Setpoint: 10%
of rated maximum fast-charge current, typical.
LED Indication (Single Mode): Red LED Is
always "ON" but intensity is proportional to charge current.
LED Indication (Dual Mode): Red LED is always
"ON" but intensity is proportional to charge current.
Green LED is "OFF" in fast-charge state, and "ON" in float-charge state.
Short Circuit Protection: Can be operated
into a short circuit indefinitely without damage.
Reverse Battery Voltage Protection: Protection
is provided if customer installs a suitable fuse in one of
the output connection leads between the charger and the battery.
Temperature Compensation: None in standard
models, but option (see below) is available, with an
appropriate cost adder, for -4mv per degree C per cell (typical).
Sensor location, selected by customer,
can
be either inside the charger case or external at the end of the output
cord near the battery.
Ambient Temperature, Operating: 0º
C to +35º C; derate output charge current by 3% per degree C for
expected ambient temperature above +35º C based on maximum current
rating for model with largest
rating in table of models above.
Fuse Protection: The input is fused with
an internal fuse mounted on the circuit board.
Input Connections: IEC320 male plug in the
case; customer-furnished line cord with IEC320 female on one
end to plug into the charger unit and with applicable plug on the other
end to plug into wall
recepatacle.
Output Connections: 6-ft output cord, 2
conductor, 20 AWG wire, with stripped ends, or, with appropriate
cost adder, options for other selections for connector on output cord as
listed below.
Size: See outline drawings below.
Weight: 1.25 lbs. (0.57 kg).
Case (Enclosure): Impact resistant black
thermoplastic, with ventilation openings for convection cooling..
Temperature Compensation:
Suffix "TI": Provides compensation of charge voltage set points at rate of -4 mv per degreeOutput Cord Connector: See selections offered below under "Model Number Selection Process".
C. Sensor is located inside battery charger case and can therefore deviate from battery
temperature. Add :TI" as a suffix to the model number (also see suffix "TE" below).
Suffix "TE": Provides compensation same as suffix "TI" but sensor is at the end of the
output cord so as to be adjacent to the battery. This suffix requires an output cord
with four (4) conductors. Therefore the model number has to be changed as shown
under "Model Number Selection Process" section below.
Example: S4 D B2 FR 14.70 - 3.2 W 9 A 3 (Explanation indented to "start" directly under applicable section)
